2002 - 2006
After appearing at “Les Restos du Coeur” in Marseille and on many major television shows, such as “ La Spéciale Zidane”,
”C’est Show” etc… Roch continues promoting his album in Bruxelles, Paris, Bordeaux, Nice, Monaco… While touring in
France, Roch receives 2 Gold albums (for more than 100 000 copies sold) for both his Christmas and Roch Voisine records.
In February, the song Dis-lui is launched on Quebec’s radio stations. In April after the Eurovision special, Roch is back
in Quebec to promote his new eponym album. This gives him the opportunity to visit a great number of his fans.
With the media, he renews by making guest appearances such as hosting La Soirée du Hockey with Michel Beaudry on SRC and
by playing a part on the “soap satire” on the show “Le Grand Blond avec un Show sournois” on TVA. For his fans throughout
Quebec, Roch performs two separate concerts broadcasted on two radio networks: Radio Energie and CKOI-FM.
Starting May 2002, Roch flies to London to work on his new English album. In mid-June, the RTL network in France produces
a 2 hours television special in Roch’s honor. On June 27th, Roch gives a concert as a special guest on Radio France Bleu,
in Besançon, Shortly after, in front of 100 000 fans in Bordeaux, Roch is the feature performer at the Radio France honorary
concert.
All through July and August, Roch works relentlessly on finishing his new English record. His work leads him to studios in
Montreal, London, Paris, Vancouver and Los Angeles, working with several internationally renowned collaborators. During that
time, BMG France releases the single Ce soir mon Ange in Europe.
On October 8th, the 1st single By Myself from the album Higher was sent to all the Canadian radio stations. The album was released across Canada on November 19th. By Myself became a #1 hit on the pan-Canadian charts in December and January. In 2002-2003, a series of concerts followed the release of the album in Canada. His fans in Quebec had the privilege of seeing Roch on stage at the Montreal Casino from February 5th through the 23rd, for a series of intimate evening-concerts. Roch toured the rest of Canada as well. With the return of the warm weather, Roch went back on tour to perform in a series of festivals in 10 Canadian cities. Each night, in front of over 30,000 fans, he delivered his greatest hits.
After spending a few months in studio, Roch is putting the final touches on a new album for his French fans. Entitled "Je te serai fidèle", the new album is scheduled to be officially released in France on November 17th 2003 and in Quebec in 2004. Roch refers to it as an entirely new album as it will feature 6 new songs as well as entirely new and revamped versions of 9 gold hits.
The first single of that album “Tant Pis” was also gold for 250 000 units sold. That single was followed by “Je l’ai vu” and “Ne m’oublie pas” which also did very well.
As a crowning achievement, Roch received the Male Francophone Artist of the Year Award at the NRJ Music Award for 2005.
Roch toured much of France in 2004 and also in 2005 with an Acoustic Tour and was sold out everywhere.
On October 31st 2005, Roch released in Europe a new French album entitled “Sauf si l’amour…”
For this album, Roch who has lived for the past 15 years through is own songs, has decided to become the interpreter of songs of writers/composers whose songs deeply reached him.
“Une femme parle avec son Coeur” was the first single (released on February 13th 2006) and with it Roch sings an hymn to women like rarely done before.
The second single will be “Ne Viens pas” (With These Eyes). And as a special thanks to his fans for all these years of loyalty, Roch added a French version of HIGHER (“Ici ou ailleurs”) by general demand of the fans.
Finally, some added good news: Roch will tour the European scene in October through December 2006!
